What is Thermal Wall Insulation ?

Did you know a third of the heat energy required to heat your property escapes through the external walls?

Insulated render, known as External Wall Insulation, is the perfect solution to this problem.

The external wall insulation system is designed to cover all types of wall substrates, mainly solid wall properties that have no cavity, or new block and brick work, masonry painted surfaces including any existing rendered walls. In fact most other substrates which are defective or porous.

The system is designed to keep the heat in and weather out, reducing your energy heating costs and SAVING you up to 40% annually.

The system involves mechanically fixing the insulation boards to the outside of the building. Basecoat adhesive and anchor fixing pins are also applied to the insulated boards. Then covered with a reinforced crack resistant mesh scrim embedded into the first base coat adhesive. A second thin base coat is then applied before the final decorative finish coat. (either Silicone, Acrylic, Pebbledash, Scrapped Finishes).

This layered method encases the property and helps prevent heat from escaping unnecessarily, containing it within the property.

Thermal wall render insulation

There are different types of Thermal Boards EPS, Phenolic and Mineral Wool. Thickness sizes range from 20mm to 200mm, all have different insulating K Values.

In recent years the need to achieve lower U-Values and reduce heating costs and CO2 emissions has become a major priority for landlords, private properties, commercial buildings and government and housing association trusts.

To achieve this, specifiers have the above choices to increase the thickness of insulation or to specify new products with lower “K” or insulation values than have been traditionally used.
